- January 28 Morningside Baptist Church, Edinburgh: John Kenny conducts the
ECAT ENSEMBLE in the world premier of Palimpsest by Paul Keenan, for soprano,
chamber ensemble, and electronics.
- February 18 8pm at the Bongo Club, Edinburgh: John Kenny with Chris Wheeler
(sound projection) perform Poems Electroniques: music by John Kenny, Morris Pert,
and the world premier of Tekatoa by Vivian Barty-Taylor.
- February 28 European tour of the American Drama Group of
Europe’s Moon Palace opens in Munich. Score by John Kenny, script by
Paul Stebbings.
- March 17 John Kenny performs on the carnyx for the opening of the Stanza
Poetry Festival, St. Andrews.
- March 20 John Kenny discusses the collaboration between poetry and music at
the Stanza Poetry Festival, St. Andrews.
- April 5 Chapel Royal of Christopher Wren’s Royal Naval
College, London. John Kenny with the brass department of Trinity
College, London, including Sonata for Unaccompanied Bass Trombone.
- April 15-18 Spain: The Real Conservatorio Superior de Música
de Madrid. John Kenny will direct workshops and performances in
contemporary brass techniques and classic 20th Century repertoire.
- April 24 Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama, Glasgow,
Brass Explosion Festival: David Bobroff will give the world premier of
John Kenny’s Sonata for Unaccompanied Contra Bass Trombone. John Kenny
will perform music from Bulgarian, American & British composers with
Bulgarian pianist Mario Angelov.

- June 17 to 22 St. Magnus Festival, Orkney: John Kenny is
composer in residence, leading to the world premier of Headspace with
John Wallace, trumpet, John Kenny, trombone, Chris Wheeler, sound
projection, and Clarence Adoo performing for the first time on the
“Headspace” instrument, developed by Rolf Gelhaar to enable Clarence,
formerly a trumpeter, quadriplegic since breaking his neck in a car
accident, to perform in real time with a sophisticated head movement
activated sound device.
